Is your supplement bottle PET compliant?
PET (we're not talking about our favorite family companions) is a recyclable plastic container, designed to be extremely durable while also being environmentally friendly greatly reducing the environmental footprint of plastics worldwide.
PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate and is one of the most widely used plastic's in the food industry. While this may not seem all that important, it's refreshing to know that whats inside the container isn't effected by the contents of the container itself.
The plastic isn't being broken down due to extreme temperature variations like other molded plastics used in the industry to cut back on material costs. It's durable for transportation and is great for reducing a companies environmental footprint.
PET can be recycled and used for a number of different end products such as fiberfill for pillows and jackets as well as carpeting and car parts among many other things.
Next time you pick up your container, flip it over and check the bottom for the "1" surrounded by the triangle arrows!
